When teaching communications, one of the key items we must highlight that it is often not the words that you use but the visuals that communicate your topic.
When writing words are critical but even online writing demands visuals.
Why is it then that we are so starved for visuals on calories?
We have a war on obesity here in America.
The President's wife Michelle Obama is actively working on combating obesity in children but there are almost no posters highlighting the right things - exercise and calorie control.
As children we learn more from what our parents did and the example they set then the words that they spoke. Oh, yes we remember sound bites just as we remember sound bites from television but the biggest impact is our actions.
What little girl doesn't mimic what Mommy does?
What little boy doesn't follow in Daddy's shadow?
We are a product of what we see.
Seeing what we are eating. Learning how to eat better. Seeing what exercise delivers results are visuals that all of us need reminders for.
The supply of posters is growing. The National Strength has a great series of posters for 101 and 50 things that are healthy but we need more variety in the marketplace.
Most importantly, we need the support of schools and health clubs to post these reminders and rotate them for our education and knowledge.
Pin Up Posters Sell - Calorie Fitness Posters Motivate
Pin up posters abound - there is even a a pin up poster of Marilyn Monroe lifting weights! See pin up poser sell.
What we should be buying is the exercise and calorie posters for our public places. Great reminders of exercise.
OK, so the pin girls are motivational too - fine - they are great for home use. If that motivates you - more power to you.
For the public, we need the basic information conveyed to us conveniently.
The poster to the right has it right - bright colors, easy to read and best of all motivational. Doesn't this poster make you want to move and exercise?
Activity Posters
Activity posters are perhaps my favorite - I love statistics and seeing results. Check out the various activities and the corresponding calories to each activity - should every schools and fitness club have this poster?!

We are inundated daily with advertisements for foods that are bad for us. Where are the advertisements for first class foods - the foods that are pure and good for our bodies?

Exercise and Calorie Posters Help Promote Healthy Living
Why do I care so much about exercise posters? Because I developed a couple of visuals of my own specific to my field - swim fitness.
Wise Swim Workout and giving a visual to help facilitate water safety is an item I am passionate about.
Proper form in target toning is critical and seeing saves so many words and bridges that gap of misunderstanding.
Fitness is simple especially if placed in visual form.
Motivating for fitness and eating correctly is simply a poster. To some it is healthy advertising. To me it should be a way of life.
